Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop (Scotland) & La Ira de Dios (Argentina) in partnership with the British Council are seeking applications from Scottish artists and curators to take part in a residency exchange programme.

Part 1: Research

Four weeks / February 2018

The first phase of the programme will take place in Buenos Aires and be hosted by La Ira de Dios. The selected Scottish artist and curator will collaborate with their Argentinian counter parts to research and develop new work to be produced during the second phase of the project.

In addition the residency will allow the participants to develop their international networks through a programme of activities facilitated by the British Council Argentina comprising of public presentations, meetings with curators and artists, visits to other institutions and projects and a final public event.

The successful applicants will receive:

– Flights
– Accommodation
– Studio
– A stipend to cover living expenses

Part 2: Production

June-July 2018

The second phase of the project will take place in Edinburgh and be hosted by Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. The artists are asked to work collaboratively to produce new work for an exhibition in August and will be part of the Edinburgh Art Festival.

The artists will receive:

– Accommodation
– Studio
– Access to Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop’s production facilities
– Receive training and support from Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop            technical staff
– A production budget
– A stipend to cover living expenses

– A one-page statement of outlining your practice, your interest in the    opportunity and how it will benefit you.
– Your CV
– Supporting material – This must be in the form of a pdf, no larger than 10mb in size. You can include links to work online and your website within this document. If you want to include moving image/sound work in your application either include links to your work online or send them via wetransfer or a similar file sharing utility.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to artists and curators at any stage of their career who are based in Scotland. Students in full time education are ineligible to apply.
