This course introduces mould-making and casting techniques using a selection of objects.

Over the two days participants will learn:

– Fundamental techniques & principles of studio mould-making & casting
– To mix and pour plaster
– To use coloured pigments to tint plaster and wax
– To make silicone moulds
– To cast small objects in pewter

Number of places: 8

Prior experience required: none

Included in the course price: materials, use of tools and 12 hours of self-directed learning to be used over the duration of the course.


Jack Cheetham predominantly explores why people attach importance to specific places and things through paraphernalia associated with certain lifestyles. These associations unfold through the playfulness of seductive aspects of certain materials, processes and techniques. www.jcheetham.com
