Mark Essen and Hannah Lees

Artist’s Talk

Current Micro Residents Mark Essen and Hannah Lees will discuss work from their respective practices. They will present an introduction to their working methods and past projects at this artist’s talk double bill.

Mark is on residency at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop between 1 March – 13 April 2016
and Hannah is on residency between 19 March – 27 April 2016.


Mark Essen graduated with a BA in Fine Art at Birmingham City University in 2007 received an MA Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2014.

Recent exhibitions include: Local Objects, IKEYAZHANG, curated by Rita Selvaggio, Milan, Italy, 2016; House of Ferment and The Village Table, Hauser and Wirth, Bruton, Somerset, 2016; Rough music, Cass Sculpture foundation, Goodwood, 2015; .

Mark is a founding member of the studio and gallery, Grand Union, Birmingham.

Hananh Lees is an artist based in London. She and graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art, UCCA, Canterbury in 2006 and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art, London in 2011
