MAGAZINE is a multi-media arts event taking place in the grounds of Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and at sites throughout Newhaven.
Showcasing new work by 15 artists, lighthouses, billboards and bridges are all being used in this dynamic exploration of contemporary sculpture.

Edinburgh-based collective FOUND will be creating an interactive music and sound installation allowing audiences to create new music during the exhibition.

The Leith Regatta
Sunday 5 August 2pm
A boat race with a difference - 100 miniature (and limited edition) wooden sailboats, will be launched into the Water of Leith at Bonnington Bridge, Newhaven Road. Boats will be named after the ships that passed through Leith’s Port during its 400 yr predominance and will carry as precious cargo the seeds of Scottish Wildflowers.

Join the members of FOUND and experiment with sound, software and instruments to create a unique piece of music.

Artist Talk for visually impaired
Saturday 18 August 1-2pm
Join us for a descriptive talk tailored for the visually impaired, led by MAGAZINE artist Duncan Robertson.

“Art in Public” - talk by DeWitt Godfrey
Friday 24 August 6.30pm
DeWitt is Associate Professor at Colgate University, New York and will be looking at the issues artists have to deal with when placing or creating work in a public space.

Saturday 25 August 1pm
An opportunity to meet some of the participating artists in the
exhibition and hear about their work and practice during an informal critique led by DeWitt Godfrey.
