Studios

Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop provides affordable studios and access to workshop facilities for the production of contemporary art.  There are 16 studios at ESW, with 14 available on long term lease and two on shorter term leases, usually of 6 months to 1 year.

Studio applications are welcomed from professional artists working within contemporary sculpture practice.

Studio Rental rates:

Solo studio: £97.36 per month      Shared studio: £70.81 per month

Studio holders have free access to the Education Space, Wood and Metal Workshops, and the outdoor area. Standard charges apply to studio holders using the Project Space.

Selection is ongoing: applications are welcomed at any time and successful applicants join the Studios Pool and will be offered a studio when one becomes available.

Benefits of holding an ESW Studio

• unlimited access to studio
• 24 hour access to ESW work spaces (except named-person machinery in the wood and Metal Workshops which can only be used Monday to Saturday 9.30am-4.45pm when technical staff are on duty).
• 24 hour access to the IT Suite including photocopier.
• No Session Rates are payable while holding a studio (except for the Project Space), allowing free use of the Education Space, Wood Workshop, Metal Workshop and outdoor working when available.
• Opportunity to promote practice and sell work during the ESW Open Day in July and Cockburn Association Doors Open Day in September.
• Professional Development opportunities with visiting arts practitioners, curators, commissioners.
