Doors Open Day
Saturday 27th September 2008
Once again Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop took part in the city-wide Doors Open Day. The event was an opportunity to meet some of the artists working at ESW and view designs for our planned new world class sculpture centre to be built on our site at Hawthornvale in Newhaven. Over 130 people visited us on the day for hosted tours of the workshop and studios.
Visitors were also able to view an exhibition of artwork exploring issues of CCTV and surveillance in society with contributions from twelve Edinburgh-based women entitled Goldfish which is the result of a project instigated in March 2008 by artist, Alice Betts, as part of the ReCreate project (a collaborative audience development project run with Stills and Edinburgh Printmakers).
