Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop brings together professional artists, first-time participants, adult learners and young people on our learning and education programmes. People come here to develop new and existing skills, access equipment and space, and to work with and learn from artists. All courses and learning activities are artist led and are designed to encourage discussion, debate and the sharing of knowledge between the different communities using the workshop.

Training – Our technical team provides training for artists in the use of equipment and in the various processes relating to contemporary sculpture. These include for example, metal sculpture, foundry work, wood construction and casting.
Training is offered at subsidised rates.
Research – Our programme provides opportunities for artists to learn about developments in contemporary practice through talks, workshops, seminars and networking events.
We offer an annual programme of courses for individuals interested in learning about the processes, techniques and critical approaches to contemporary sculpture. Evening courses allow for an in-depth exploration over several weeks, while our weekend and Saturday courses provide an introduction to processes.
Particpants are encouraged to return to work here on their own to further develop their skills and knowledge.
We can organise tailored workshops and courses to suit all age groups from two-hour taster sessions to week-long intensive workshops or masterclasses.
We can also offer spaces to organisations or groups wishing to run workshops, seminars and education activities within their own programme.
