Gordon Mitchell  RSA, RSW, RGI

Title: Tango
Date: 2009
Bronze, each H 33 cms x diam 14 approx

Gordon Mitchell’s paintings are consistently powerful and seldom without a sense of humour. His humour ranges from the sardonic and even
melancholic to the light-hearted and sometimes outrageously funny. Experiencing paintings by Mitchell is an immediate and easily accessible emotional event – an event, however, which lasts and restates itself in new ways, over and over with every new viewing, every new approach. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have some of his work will appreciate the depth and multiple layers of consciousness which he explores as he creates, constructs, reveals, exposes and generates in his work.
