Biography
I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in sculpture and was awarded the John Kinross scholarship which enabled me to stay a year in Florence. While in Florence I worked in a printmaking studio where I first learned etching and printmaking. I continued printmaking on return to Edinburgh at Edinburgh Printmakers Workshop.
I was then awarded the King Edward VII scholarship to take up a place of study at the Academie der Bilden Kunst in Munich , firstly in the class of Eduardo PAOLOZZI as an exchange student, then gaining a place as a regular student at the academie and going on to be a master student in the class of Asta Groting .
Since returning to Scotland I have had a studio at ESW where I continue to develop my sculptural practice . I think the facilities for making sculpture at ESW are exceptional and the support and contact with other artists is invaluable in the continuing of my sculptural activities .
